Icons of Thane

‘Icons of Thane’ is the third of Lokmat’s Coffee table book series. The book chronicles the success story of 44 personalities of Thane who have contributed to the upliftment of the society.

The book was released at a grand ceremony on 3rd Dec 2013 at Thane in the presence of the senior cabinet ministers of Maharashtra Government Mr Harshvardhan Patil and Mr Ganesh Naik. Also present on the occasion were cricket legend Mr Dilip Vengsarkar and top Art Director Mr Nitin Deasi.

Thane today is a prominent destination for all those who seek newer avenues of growth and development. It is among the most developed cities in Maharashtra. And what makes it so is the galaxy of eminent men and women who have greatly contributed to its economic, social, cultural, industrial and potential life. They are the lifeblood of the city and its ethos.

The Lokmat group aptly recognised the Business and Political Icons of Pune and Aurangabad in its earlier effort and now we have embarked upon the portrayal of the Icons of Thane to profile the men and women who have shaped the Thane of the 21st century in this book. They are the leaders who shall shape the future.
